GULFSHORE PLAYHOUSE SEEKS ASSISTANT COMPANY MANAGER
Gulfshore Playhouse, a not-for-profit, professional theatre company located in Naples, Florida, is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented individual to serve as Assistant Company Manager.
 
Gulfshore Playhouse offers a diverse season of straight plays and small musicals ranging from venerated classics and Broadway hits to contemporary works and world premieres. The Playhouse is passionately committed to producing high-quality, professional theatre which exceeds the expectations of the cultured residents and visitors of Naples, FL, many of whom are regular theatre patrons in New York, Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C.
 
Gulfshore Playhouse has performed for many years in an intimate 200-seat venue at the Norris Center, a municipal building run by the City of Naples. The Playhouse is in the final phases of a $66M capital campaign and has broken ground on the Baker Theatre and Education Center, a state-of-the-art facility, featuring a 350-seat mainstage with a Broadway-sized stage, a 125-seat flexible space, rehearsal studios, classrooms, and rental space. This is an extraordinarily exciting time for the Playhouse, which is experiencing unprecedented growth, and the Assistant Company Manager will have the opportunity to participate in it.
 
Status: Full-time, year-round position
Start Date: As soon as possible

Representative Duties:
  • Assisting the Company Manager with coordinating, managing, and executing all aspects of artist logistics while utilizing concierge-level customer service for all visitors, including:
    • Travel, housing, and transportation needs while in town for the comfort of the Playhouse’s actors, designers, guest artists etc.;
  • Assisting the Company Manager with coordinating airport pick-ups and drop-offs.
  • Assisting the Company Manager with other company management duties which include:
    • Facilitating welcome packet distribution;
    • Procurement and upkeep of rental properties in collaboration with landlords, including cleanliness and repairs;
    • Assisting with and maintaining the company calendar, including staff meetings, birthdays, and special events;
    • Addressing all general needs of artists, such as housing, reimbursements, shipping, and transportation;
    • Maintaining guest artist housing spreadsheets, contact sheets, emergency medical forms, worker’s comp claims, finance reports, and contract requirement spreadsheets;
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of all theatre work spaces.
  • Render such other services as may reasonably be required by Employer and as are customarily furnished by an Assistant Company Manager at a first-class professional theatrical organization in the United States
 
The ideal candidate will have a willingness to ensure high-quality work in the guest artist experience and excellent communication and organizational skills.  The Playhouse values hard work, kindness, generosity, passion, and grace-under-pressure.  The Assistant Company Manager will be expected to work extended hours when necessary to meet goals. Weekend and evening hours are required including attendance at Opening Nights, special events, and/or meetings that may happen outside normal hours.
 
Qualifications:
 
The ideal candidate would possess:
 
  • Ability to work with a team and build relationships with the guest artists and Gulfshore Playhouse team members
  • Comfort with Microsoft Excel, Google Drive, Calendar, and Docs a must
  • Comfort with driving their own vehicle
  • Comfort with interfacing with guests artists, team members, donors, and board members alike

Salary: $38,000-$40,000 annually plus excellent benefits
