Research Assistant (Philadelphia)
Moxie Research, a San Diego-based program evaluation firm, is seeking a part time research assistant to conduct classroom observations of in-school visual art programs in Philadelphia. 

Salary:
$35/hourly non-exempt employee

Time Commitment:
Part-time up to 70 hours total between October 2019 and April 2020.

Essential Duties:
Candidates must be able to perform the following with or without reasonable accommodation. Observe visual art programs at school sites and in The Barnes Foundation’s galleries and record data using an observation protocol developed by Moxie Research. 

Requirements:
  • Experience with visual art education programs and/or visual art instruction at the elementary level.
  • Have access to cellphone and/or internet-connected computer to enter observation data. 
  • Have clearances for 2019-20 to enter schools in the School District of Philadelphia including FBI clearance, child abuse history clearance and criminal record clearance.  
  • Must provide own transportation to and from the school sites and The Barnes Foundation.

The selected candidate will be trained on how to conduct observations and do not necessarily need previous experience in this. 

Candidates should be familiar and have experience with visual art education programs at a cultural institution such as The Barnes Foundation or other museum and/or visual art instruction in Pre-K, 3rd, 5th and 7th grades.

Candidates should have good communication skills and attention to detail.
